About FlowPDF
FlowPDF automates and standardizes your prepress activities. Files that your clients have delivered can be automatically processed according to the order specifications. With FlowPDF, you can see beforehand how your print job will look when it is printed. FlowPDF sends an order with job specifications directly to the printer. So you can produce a published product with predictable quality while reducing your costs.
The FlowPDF module includes the following features:
FlowPDF Preflighting
FlowPDF Preflighting processes the files that the client has delivered with the correct embedded fonts, page format, number of pages, color quality, and graphics resolution. You have the option to review a preview of the print job before starting printing. If the printed publication will differ from the order specifications, you will receive an automatic notification.
FlowPDF Imposition Diagrams
FlowPDF Imposition Diagrams are used to automatically designate the prepress image for digital print or offset production. Examples of possible binding options within FlowSuite include single-page binding, stapled binding, adhesive binding, and sewn binding.
FlowPDF Color management
FlowPDF Color Management provides various color options, including conversion to grayscale, conversion from RGB to CMYK color values, conversion from CMYK to RGB color values, or changing to customized ICC color profiles.
FlowPDF Transparency Flattening
FlowPDF can flatten transparency in documents in order to avoid printing problems with older raster image processors (RIPs), for example when printing covers.
FlowPDF PostScript link
The FlowPDF PostScript link can automatically deliver a PostScript file to the raster image processor for color separation processing, if it is better to work with a single PostScript file.
FlowPDF JDF link
The FlowPDF JDF link ensures direct delivery of a print job to the printer queue. This can be accomplished via JDF 1.1 with a hot folder, or via JDF 1.2 (a real-time service). With JDF 1.2, detailed feedback is provided about the print job.
FlowPDF LPR link
The FlowPDF LPR link ensures delivery to the printer queue of a specific printer. Job settings are set in PostScript or PDF format.
